Howdy y'all
I have finished Unwrapping w00t it is a pretty basic unwrap just so i can textur nicly in Zbrush. and I kept it organized just in case I need to edit in photoshop. So far so good.

I have also a little while ago just started Zbrushing. I tried to inXSI do as much detail as possbible, but it became that I got a way to many polys. So I figured I had enough topology
and I could go zbrush and I would perfect it. I finished the body with the mane going up the back of the human part of the centaur. I really thinkf that is going to give nice transistion from Humn to horse.

The hardest part was the hair and the tail. Because i really wanted to the hair to have a nice appeal, the part that is going to make or break my hair is going the be the texturing and transparency maps.
But I am not going to ramble, because i am in one of personal fav classes, and I want to work. SO off I go.
Here are the images

Hope y'all like em
Next come the super awesome texturing (or at least I hope)

Hello, Long time no post.
I have been currently posting on Forum.digimill.net
Check out the progress here: http://forum.digimill.net/index.php?topic=27.0

But I want to keep up my blog because well being on a blog is AWESOME!!
Well after many discussions (or one) with Graeme that my face was all wrong, and it looked to generic, and not girl-ish enough. Soo what I did was reasearched a good face, more feminine and such. I was really looking for a well defined jaw, and nice nose. I manage to find some pretty good reference. Took my orginal face (because it hade some decent edgeloops) and tweaked points and also used porportional modeling to get the face just right. it took awhile and some pretty good crituques from my classmates, and thus a new face was made

New Face-Side-------------------------------------New Face-Front

NewFace-Hair-Side-----------------------New Face-Hair-Front

Old Face - Side-------------------------------Old Face -Front
Now lets take a vote:
New or Old
Ok you dont get to vote, I lied, it is without a doubt the New Face.
The ear remained the same---but that is all. I made a quite a bit of changes and I dont regret it. I think it has turned out very nice, especially the womanly features. so happy :)
I have not really worked on my body due to the fact that I need to go onto Zbrush or Mudbox.

She is now has hair, a tail and a shirt. All in progress, of course, I think the shirt is ok, I am going to what I can do with it in zbrush and texturing.

so I hope you enjoy

Hello Hello
Im back again and still busy with my latest project, the Centaur, she hasn't been named yet give me time, lol. Yesterday I have never been so glad that I love my toys and keep them all and now I can use them for reference; I have my Bryer Horse sitting beside me and it helps me soooo much with the muscle structure (for those who don't know what bryers are they are detailed horse figurines, that are made to look like very famous horses.) it is the perfect reference because i can turn it around and view close up where the muscles are. sooo I have been busy with muscle structure, but I dont want the topology to go way out the wa-zoo, so it is working. I also made the ears, I orginally made them human, but then i stretched them out so they have a point, so she look a little bit more like a horse. i did not want to give her horse ears because well lets face it, it would look awkward. I haven't really touched the feet yet, nor the arms or hands, but she is coming along quite nicely

Well the Centaur continues, and it has been a while since my last post. Yesterday at school we went to visit a company Club Penguin, it was SUPER AWESOME!!! if you have got some kids and haven't found a game you feel you can leave them with check out http://www.clubpenguin.com it is a fantastic game for kids!!! ...and of course I play it too, I really enjoy it, and it is a relaxing and fun game to play. soooooooooo well I got distracted thinking of the coolness of this company, and was barley able to sit down and get some work down, so for a good few hours I was tweaking some points, over and over again until finally I was able to crack down and fix some edge loops in the face. I worked on it yesterday for like 2 hours of actually working. sooooo and like 1 hour this morning. Doesn't look like i got a whole lot done but I really was trying to make all my edgeloops work and I dont even know if I got that, haha but she is looking pretty good, I am still going to make the face more, what I like, but all and all I think she is coming together.

Soooooooooooo
Aura is still in the WIP zone, BUT I have also started my newest project The Centaur
She is going to be female, but more a realistic body, not cutsy like the last project. She is going to more of a fighter.
I am still debating in my mind weather she will have armour, or just a shirt. But here you go, this took me an Hour and a Half to get done. I will when i get home ( I am currently at school) going to post some of my pics I sketched out
So here she is so far.

Hello
I am SOOOOOOOOO excited my Aura character is finally going to where I want it to go. My teacher Graeme helped me, and it just made it amazing, We of course had trial and errors , but we finally got it to the look that we wanted.
So I did a quick test render (if you think 8 - 9 hours a short render) and got it today and it looks allllllll pretty.. hehe Im giddy

I hope y'all like it

Hello Fellow Blogger-ese long time no see.Well break was great, Christmas was fun. Newyears was a smashing party, DDR all the way baby. Then for the next 3 days after I watched to entire season (22 episodes) of Supernatural, By the way AWESOME!!!!!!!! Well the break fun is over, and the real fun begins, Last semester of school. Been a week, I have had been busy with my courses. I have 3 (I consider 2) 2 are classes all for making my portfollio, and one class to finish our short film. So for this first week I have gone back to my Aura character to make her pretty. You see her textures we not bad ( I dont think I posted her last semester pictures) so here they are:

As the textures go, they are not horrible, they are just not good, the scales are not shiny enough. So I have been working as hard as I can and trying to figure out how I can make the scales shiny and still have the skin look appealing. I have started pretty much since the beginning, except the colors.

so here she is again:
I changed the eyes , I think they are still a tad to bright and wide, but they are comingthe scales are well, VERY SHINY!!!! yay, the skin is pretty good, of couse not as good as the SSS, but pretty good. I am really trying make it look..well skin like. For a while it looked way to much
Still in progress. I hope y'all like her

Hello Fellow Blogger-ese

Well I have been workin on my Zbrush work, and it is proving to be very fun, and a tad bit time consuming. because I made my character as...well detailed in XSI before bringing it into Zbrush, Zbrush has been liking to well shut down on me, which I believe to be very-much NOT Cool, but after De-Fraging, and work steadily to see if I can get Zbrush to work on level 5, or 6 I have finally found a way to switch between levels with little or NO shutting down YAY. so and that happened completely by accident today, early morning.
Aura is coming along very nicely, because of the detail put in before I have very little detail to put on her, other than well the deformation, and bumps.
Her scales were a little difficulty because I want them to look neat, and tidy. I did it once took me a few hours, than I was like NAH, and started way back, re-did the scales, and made her prettier.
I dont have much left top do other than well texturing, and i REALLY excited about that (also deformation in XSI). I hope to finish texturing later tonight. I am not going to mainly do my texturing in Zbrush just because I want some effects that only XSI can pull off. a whole lot of nodes and well awesomeness.
The hair bumps are not going to be done AT all in Zbrush, because ti will look really funny (believe me i tried) I will create texture in Zbrush, tweak it in Photoshop, and than take the texture and create an appropriate bump to it.
so well enough rambling.

Check out the Pics ( from top to bottom 1. Upper body tweaks, most detail already created in XSI so not to mush to be done to it. I worked mainly on the breast, collar bone arm muscles, elbow, stomach aand neck. 2. close up of upper bdy 3. worked on the alpha bumping, and it looked kinda messy so I scraped it and went back and redid the scales. 4. redone scales, and aswell as scales on the face, and arms like the concept art. Fixed up a few things in the upper body and such.)

Hello,

Well for this assignment we were suppose to make a sculpture before we did our actual 3d model. So I finished her..like 2-3 weeks ago (I think) but i figured i best be putting her on my blog

She is different, but pretty much has the same qualitites, Her head is a tad to wide because in one the steps that I made her, (wiredframe, tinfoil, sculpy) I put a little to much tinfoil on her head, so after I was workingon her for a while i realized that he head was large, and could not go back.
She does have scales, I textured it with a onion bag , and it gave it a nice effect . I need to take a closer shot of it.
So i hope ya like it ~Cass

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

12hours COMPLETE

I remained to tweak , and make pretty. I made the boobies less round, well because it was a tad too.......Jessica Rabbit-ish.

Well here she is I am really proud of her. she actully turned out the way I want, and in 12 hours I mananged to accomplish a rather nice model.

well here is the 12 hours pic

I will continue posting on what I do in zbrush ...also I will add a linkto zbrush when I get a pic in there.
and also she will betextured. She is a Goldfish, so she will a orange..of course. But I had to add the shine the you see on scales.

Well hello Again, I am Currently Finished my...11th hour..lol. That is truly amazing it only feels like I have been working on this for 10 hours before this post..

Oh yeah..
Well since it is coming close to a close, I will still remaining to work mainly on detail and edgeloops. I have tried to take em down, but it does seem that the amount of edgeloops I have is kinda needed. to keep the shape that I want in this girl.

I did take some time to work on the eye, so it looks a tade bit better. I personally think it is actully coming along. I do think I will be taking my attention from the face, and working on the body, (even though I have inbetween) I making the arms have a tad bit more musculerture, and the stomach to have some shape. I do tend like my girls to have waistline, I dont like super skinny girls (even though this one is pretty skinny) BUT I am trying to give her a little pudge. This girl is more like a bratz character, bit head, bit lips, and a little bit of a decent sized bust.
Speaking of the bust, this ones boobs, are not natural looking for a reason...does she look natural? she is to look like a chartoon character I designed , and she has rather, busty, but not HUGE either.
Well she cute nevertheless. I hope the next hour will go well.

Howdy Y'all
10th hour..DONE!! ....
when you look at these next pics, you will AMAZED AT THE CHANGES..

..
..
ok i lied, the past hour has been mostly tweaking, finding EVIL 5-sided, and triangles, and well Suffering through it all. Also making sure that all my edgeloops are needed, I think in mid making I went a TAD bit edgeloop happy.
So here she is
again
hope ya arnt sick of her yet because well..still 2 more hours to go
~Cass

Monday, December 04, 2006

Howdy, one hour again, done.

Sooo I did not put off the hair, I wanted it changes, so thus...I changes it.
I really think it looks pretty cool now When the sides are put together, I do want to make the other side so so symmetrical, because I does look cool, but too even.
That alone took me ..proabally 30mins....so i did a bunch of tweaking. all around. then I move the hair curves around a bit because they were WAY to spread out before. now as you will see in the pic, they look pretty good.
Hope Ya enjoy ~Cass

8th hour, OMG I m cuttin it close.
4 hours to go, I am NOT panicking. YAY
oke here is her latest pics. I did her hair more or less, Im not to sure if I like it, Ilike the top of her head , and I like the curls that come off in front of her fins. But the BIG MASS, doesn't do it for me. I think was a decent idea, but...Noooooooooo I might do it a bit different. I think even z-brush wont make it look the way I want it.
so I will re-do it, either now, or after i feel i have done everything else to the way I like it.
SO I dunno. You will see a change
~Cass

Sunday, December 03, 2006

Hello This be the 7 th hour. I have 5 hours to go, I think when I am done I am pretty sure she will look pretty good. I am rather proud of her so far.
Well as for the hair, the idea of it being a separate object did not work, It would have taken double to amount of time to do the top of the head, because I would have had to shape everything to fit her head.
Yeah so this took me an hour , The big pony tail it still remaining to be a bit tougher than imagined but it will look good Im sure.
She now has the side of her head fins, which make her head look a little better.
sooo yeah here are the most current screenshots , i mainly worked on the head so it is just head shot (boom - HEADSHOT, lol had to) ..hehe

5th Hour. YAY..actully I have a confession, I finished this hour like 2 days agao but I have been SOOO busy with other work, and such that I have not yet been able to post it. I have 7 hours left to go. I have the dorsal fin and the hair fleft, then a whole lot of tweaking.
